about

This track has both vocalists (and guest vocals by Alex Melton), electric guitar, bass, and drums. This has to be one of the most fun songs to play. If you see us live, it's guaranteed to be at the beginning or the end of the set!

lyrics

V1
Can I retire goatish psalms till the suns peak.
Rest the things I used to care for when I was torn asunder from dream.
I'm familiar with the whispers (we) made point to engineer in the winds here-
They permeate my vessel, no one detects them better than I [don't need them].

C1
Placed heart to helm, mind over hells.
Ration myself to a quota of breadcrumbs.
Beseech the unreal, they seep through every fracture ( to partake {of} the wheel),
To allow us just a moment- till I know that I can hold my own.

Jolting back to life where the lightening held to kite in such a closeness.
Gives condolence just to see what we've traversed thus far
In progress toward the calm. If we ever came across such a thing,
I'd safe guard ... I'd deliver us from falling to flight.

V2
Dissimilar breeze as the O2 depletes,
The gasping for breath sets our masses to motion
And the swaying sensation that puts you to sleep-
In my better of mind I think "I don't need it".
As Earths a cancer victim with a missing wedding band saying: "You just hold me down, but {I think} our souls can still hold hands",
Disowning my brothers, adrift out in the mist-
I spent my latter half of life thinking "I don't need them".

C2
{So} placed heart to helm and keeping mind over hells,
I'll reach across the grid with my pessimistic "need you now" s.
I've seen the so many spectra decay, oh how my teeth have been worn [don't need them].
I thought myself safe, in a compartment stowed away,
So do I give myself to impulse in my sickening lack of certainty- now ejected into nothing - my family set afar, like our naivety: {negligently} cast off and lost against a background of stars.

I think not. Not as I stir.
All I need's a metric and a "labe" for unfamiliar fields.
I've set this place ablaze so don't you dance across my sky and be gone [don't need them].
When we all are born, embracing on the shore-
A new life for the daughters and the sons of unfamiliar fields-
I'm coming up for light, I'm giving up this life.
I leave for you my mantle and a prayer that you might not distort it....

V3 and outro

( I don't need them )
I'd wager dawn at best, but it's a long shot from the rest.
If I can save you, from the rain - Redeem the timber in my name -
{I'm} like the muon, the subtle moments I'm alive, {since} in next few I'm decaying and I'm giving off a light.
And while you thought me something different when I struck against your foil, now you see I've got the same charge as what was quantized in the oil.

Oh, but I don't need this melancholy, tragic song-
If I'm a soul without a body, then I'll pick up and move on {and}
All I was become a footprint in an hourglass of wine, joining with the castles and waning with the tides.
My tears are swelling, from the pain of loss and sight.
So love, take joy in the lights that distant shores and lamps provide;
Though incomparable to you smile thus keeping hells to mind

...Oh, but keeping still...

The Promise of Spica, I will not rest till I've touched thou.

{...my pessimistic "need you now" s... a "labe" for unfamiliar fields...}
